DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY: SRUJAN 2021-22

The Department of History organized a multidisciplinary educational programme, Srujan Lectures Series for history students.

1. Dr. Pradip Waghmare (ASI.PRF. Dept of History, Ruia College, Mumbai) delivered an online lecture on “Labour Movement in Pre Independence, Mumbai City” on 23 Feb. 22, Time: 11 AM.
2. Dr. Mrinmayi Satam (ASI.PRF. Dept of History, Amity University, Mumbai) delivered an online lecture on “Influenza and COVID-19: History of Pandemic” on 25 Feb. 22, Time: 11 AM.
3. Dr. Devkumar Ahire (ASI.PRF. Dept of History, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune) delivered an online lecture on “Independence, Partition and Tribal Reaction” on 26 Feb. 22, Time: 9:30 AM.
4. All these lectures were informative and thought-provoking, and the students actively participated in these lectures. Prof. Kishor More (Convenor) technically organized the above lecture series.

SRUJAN 2020-2021

1. The Department of History organized a special online lecture on “Career in Civil Services” on 16 February 2021. Guest speaker was Mr. Kishor Shirke, Educationist, Mumbai.
2. The Department of History organized a special online lecture on “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Historiography” on 19 February 2021. Guest speaker was Dr. Muphif Mujaveer, Assistant Professor of Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
3. The Department of History organized a special online lecture on “Bhakti Tradition and Reforms of Saint Tukaram” on 20 February 2021. Guest speaker was Mr. Uddhav Dhumale, Senior Journalist of Saakal Marathi Newspaper.
4. Above all, Srujan’s History Department’s online programmes had active student participation. All guest speakers’ lectures were informative and thought-provoking.
5. The Department of History organized an online alumni meeting on 25 April 2021. Our former and ex-students enthusiastically participated in this online meeting. Most students are pursuing PG courses and job-oriented skill-based courses simultaneously. The alumni meeting was informative and effective.
